Almost everyday you come across something different. Along with providing procurement advice, suggesting procurement strategies to end users and facilitating supplier disputes, my day encompasses heavily on managing the end to end procurement process.  This job gives me the ability to get the best value for money for the organization while ensuring equal opportunities for all (suppliers), in turn giving you the feeling of satisfaction and having made a meaningful impact.

I provide analysis of the energy efficiency of proposed projects and associated grant opportunities, analyze various trends within the energy sector and write various reports regarding energy conservation, renewable energy and energy storage.

OCWA is a total solutions provider within the water/wastewater sector that employs over 1000 people with plenty of diversity when it comes to types of jobs.  I was able to take on new positions five times without leaving the Agency over the span of 11 years, which allowed me to develop new skills and improve existing skills.

I’m really busy. Electrical and instrumentation is a main component for the plant. Every day I learn from the operations team. It’s challenging.

I calibrate the lab equipment, then I can do rounds and take samples of water to test. If there are issues I troubleshoot them and make sure the plant is running smoothly.

The training. You’ll get a lot of hands on experience which is good for someone starting out. You’re also directly responsible for the drinking water of everyone in the town.

I make sure the plant is running well. I have a daily operational routine to follow that ensures regular maintenance gets done around the plant. I identify issues with equipment and make process changes.
