OCWA project manages the design, approvals, tendering, construction, and commissioning of capital works and upgrades. OCWA can also assist in the start-up and initial operations of the new facilities. We also undertake the preparation of funding applications and major maintenance and minor capital works.
OCWA manages hydrogeological and feasibility studies. We peer review engineering reports, evaluate new technologies, and prepare facility assessment reports.
OCWA offers complete services for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) including troubleshooting and upgrading, installation, developing protocols for testing warning alarms, and instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
OCWA provides oversight assistance in support of the operation and maintenance of your water and wastewater systems. We work closely with operators to assist them in developing and implementing best practices, prioritization of operational and maintenance duties, troubleshooting of process and mechanical problems, water sampling protocol, data and record keeping, and providing general technical support. As part of OCWA's service, we provide 24 hour, 7 days per week access to a qualified operator for any questions or technical assistance.
OCWA has performed asset data collection at over 600 water and wastewater facilities. We implement maintenance management systems, undertake condition surveys, develop preventative maintenance procedures and capital improvement plans.
We review facility operational manuals and update the manual or develop a user-friendly manual to cover all aspects of water and wastewater treatment plant operations. OCWA also develops Emergency Response Plans specific to each water and wastewater treatment facility.
OCWA can stress test your facilities, identify bottlenecks in the system, and recommend solutions to increase the capacity of a facility.
OCWA provides operational training and troubleshooting support, working one-on-one with First Nations operators to optimize their systems and to obtain their operator certification. OCWA can provide hands-on, on-the-job training and mentoring to operators.
